Korea team was in the third place
The male taekwondo player, Farzad Abdollahi(-78 kg), conquered his Chinese rival with following result(6-1) in 18th ATU championships and completed Iran's gold medals collection.
Farzad Abdollahi defeated his Pakistani rival(7-0) in the first round, Kazakhstan rival(2-1) in second round and the rival of Thai(4-1) in third round. Finally, he overcomed his Chinese rival (6-1) powerfully and grabbed a gold medal of 18th ATU championships.
Male taekwondo players of Iran gained 60 points, 4 gold medals, 1 silver and allocated the first place to himself.
Chinese team with 34 points and Korean team with 32 points gained the second and third place respectively and it was the first time that Korea taekwondo team was in the third place while this team was champion during the last 17 period.
Female taekwondo players of Iran were in the forth place with acquiring a gold medal, 1 silver and 20 points.
Chinese female taekwondo team with 52 points, Chinese Taipie (38) and Korean team (36) were in the first, second and third place respectively.
With this regard that the present teams in 18th ATU championships had just participated in 6 weight, but the host team in 8 weight and 16 players in sum, so the host team with 83 points is in the first place now and Iran with 79 points and 12 players is in the second place.
As notification of this point, the heads of Iran taekwondo federation has shown their complaints to administrators in order to regard the host team with 12 players too.
In case of acceptance this matter from administrators, Iran taekwondo team both male and female would gain the first place.
Besides these, the female players Fatemeh Nemati gained a gold medal, Soheila Sayahi with a bronze and the male players kourosh Rajoly, Farzad abdollahi, Mohammad Bagheri Motamed and Alireza Nasr Azadani gained gold medals and Reza Naderian acquired a silver medal.
